Melissa P., CNA
Homemaker/Companion Caregiver, ICLS Caregiver, ILS Trainer
Melissa joins Compassionate Home Care as a CNA. She has been working in the healthcare field for the past 15 years. She has worked in home healthcare for over nine years and in a nursing home for over six years. Melissa loves helping those who need help; it has always been her passion to help those in need no matter how small or big the task at hand is. Melissa loves making a difference in someone’s life, and she enjoys getting to know the person and where they are coming from; she enjoys listening to all of their life stories. Melissa sees herself fitting in with the Compassionate Home Care mission because the agency is based on the same beliefs she has. The client deserves the utmost respect and the very best care that Melissa can provide, and Melissa knows that the client is not just a body -- he or she is a person that is loved and valued. Melissa is married and has a son. Some of her hobbies include a newfound love for keeping fish; she has six aquariums at home. Melissa loves reading, fishing, and being out in the woods hiking and enjoying nature. Melissa also enjoys painting when she has a little more free time. Some of Melissa’s favorite movies include P.S. I Love You, The Notebook, I am Sam, and all of the Nicholas Sparks movies. She enjoys watching old time TV shows like I Love Lucy and Bonanza. Melissa grew up on a 200 acre dairy farm in Pine Center, MN until she was five. Her parents moved to the Brainerd Lakes area where they built a home and have lived for the past 25 years. Melissa has enjoyed helping her dad out in the field bailing hay and just being a country kid. She has enjoyed helping those who lived on larger farms. Melissa has always enjoyed helping those who need help and has always loved being around the animals. Melissa moved down to the Zimmerman area about four years ago when she met her husband, and she has continued to love helping those in need through home healthcare.
